Sony Ericsson has announced the K618, a slim-line lightweight "stick" design phone, which the company says, offers the perfect mix of mobile phone, multimedia applications, and business solutions. A high performance 3G device, the phone is said to deliver blisteringly-fast speeds for streaming or downloading music and video clips, browsing the Web, or gaming. Besides, support for push email makes it easier for users to send messages directly to the phone without having to download them. The K618 features a music player with support for MP3, AAC, AAC+, and eAAC+ files; a phone speaker; and full audio/video streaming among others. Other features include a 176 x 220 pixels, TFT 1.9-inch 262k color display; 2.0 mega pixels camera with 2.5x digital zoom and Mobile Blogger, which allows users to post or blog images directly to blog sites; and separate video telephony camera plus high speed 3G connectivity for making video calls. With the supplied 256MB Memory Stick Micro (M2), users can store around 700 photos or 230 music tracks. Memory can be expanded up to 1GB. Thanks to Bluetooth Streaming, full-length music tracks or video clips can be sent wirelessly from the phone, and listened to on a compatible Bluetooth-enabled device such as the Stereo Bluetooth Headset HBH-DS970. This UMTS 2100 device will be launched in selected markets beginning Q3 2006. It will come in two colors; Vibrant Black and Bright White.
